ARTISOFT CENTRALIZES EUROPEAN OPERATIONS
BY MOVING EUROPEAN HEADQUARTERS TO THE
NETHERLANDS
Move Made To Improve Response Time And Lower Costs
Associated With European Distribution
(TUCSON, AZ -- July 20, 1992) -- Artisoft, Inc., the American-
based manufacturer of the award-winning LANtastic(R) Local
Area Network, announced today that, in order to improve its
response time and lower costs associated with European
distribution, it has centralized its European operations by moving
its European headquarters to The Netherlands. The new European
headquarters will be responsible for sales, marketing, fulfillment
operations, technical support and training with respect to Artisoft
products in the European market.
Artisoft develops and manufactures a full line of hardware and
software for local area networks including the LANtastic Local
Area Network. The LANtastic network is recognized as the
leading DOS-based peer-to-peer network and has won numerous
industry awards for its cost-effective features, performance, and
ease of use. It allows up to 300 users of IBM(R)-compatible
computers to connect and share information and peripheral devices
such as printers, hard drives and CD-ROMs. The LANtastic
network and Artisoft's other connectivity products are distributed
in over 70 countries worldwide.
The new Artisoft European headquarters will be headed by Robert
"Mac" McKinley, who has been promoted to Director of European
Sales & Marketing. McKinley, who joined Artisoft in March 1991,
was recently promoted to Director of North American Sales in
March of this year. Prior to joining Artisoft, he was employed by
CompuAdd Corporation in Austin, Texas and Computer
Associates in San Jose, California.
"With his winning track record at Artisoft and in the high-tech
industry, we believe Mac McKinley will prove to be an excellent
leader in expanding our European operations to meet the potential
of this market," stated Dave Hallmen, Artisoft's Vice President of
Sales & Marketing.
Artisoft's new European headquarters in The Netherlands is
scheduled to open this quarter. Artisoft's previous European
headquarters was located in the United Kingdom. McKinley will
take over the duties assigned to Artisoft's former Vice President of
Sales & Marketing-European, Wilfred L. Butt, who is no longer
with the company. Artisoft U.K. will remain as a sales, marketing
and technical support office for the U.K.
